Step-by-step explanation:

The piece of wire is ¹¹/4 meters long

length of first piece of wire is ⁵/8 metres

length of second wire = x

x= first we have to take the LCM of 4 and 8

  • 11 × 4 - 5 × 2/16
  • 44 - 10 / 16
  • 34/16 then we have to take the simplest form of 34/16

Ans = the length of second piece is 17 / 8 metres
