perimeter of equilateral triangle(P) = 3a
a=Lt. of side=6.6 cm
=> P= 19.8 cm
Now,
P = circumference of circular ring
P =2πR
19.8 =2×3.14×R
R=3.15 cm
diameter=2R=6.3 cm

Answer:

The diameter of the ring is 6.30 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A piece of wire is bent in the shape of an equilateral triangle of each side 6.6 cm. It is re bent to form a circular ring.

To find : What is the diameter of a ring?

Solution :

Side of an equilateral triangle is 6.6 cm.

The perimeter of the equilateral triangle is

P=3a

P=3\times 6.6

P=19.8cm

Now, It is re bent to form a circular ring.

The perimeter of the equilateral triangle is equal to the circumference of the ring.

The circumference of the ring is C=2\pi r

So, 19.8=2\pi r

19.8=2\times 3.14\times r

r=\frac{19.8}{2\times 3.14}

r=3.15

The diameter of the ring is twice the radius.

D=2r=2(3.15)=6.30 cm.

Therefore, The diameter of the ring is 6.30 cm.
