Let the length of other piece be x

ATQ :

➡ x + 51/4 = 121/2

• x = 121/2 - 51/4

• x = 121(2)/2(2) - 51/4

• x = 242/4 - 51/4

• x = ( 242 - 51 ) / 4

• x = 191/4

Length of others piece = 191/4 cm.

Verification :

• x + 51/4 = 121/2

LHS = x + 51/4

• 191/4 + 51/4
• ( 191 + 51 ) / 4
• 242/4
• 121/2

RHS = 121/2
