Answer:

The new resistance will be 3 times the original resistance.

R' = 3R

Given:

A resistance of wire is 10 Ω.

To Find:

The new resistance.

Solution:

To find the new resistance = ?

Resistance, R = 10 Ω ...(Given).

Let l be the length of a wire.

  • R ∝ 1

According to the question,

If the length is increased three times,

  • L = 3L

So, new resistance = ?

  • R' ∝ L' ∝ 3L
  • R/R' = L/3L = 1/3.

Therefore,

  • R' = 3R.

New resistance = 3 times original resistance.
