When a piece of wire of resistance R is cut into five equal parts , the resistance of each part will be = R/5 ohm. .

Now , Equivalent resistance R¹ = 1/{(5/R)+(5/R)+(5/R)+(5/R)+(5/R)} ohm.

= 1/ (25/R) ohm.

= R/25. ohm .

So, R : R¹

= R/R¹

= R /(R/25)

= R× (25/R)

= 25
