A piece of wire of resistance R is stretched so that its length is increased to 3 times. Calculate the new resistance and resistivity of the wire.

therefore, 3R is the answer

R is directly proportional L (length)

So when L increases, R also increases.

So if L increases 3 times, then R also increases by 3 times

R ∝ L
