mass of wood , m = 26g

volume of wood ,V = 30.4 cm³

we know, density = mass/volume

= 26/30.4

= 0.855 g/cm³

we know, relative density is the ratio of density of substance to density of water at 4°C .

density of water at 4°C = 1g/cm³

so, relative density of wood = 0.855/1 = 0.855

so, relative density of wood = 0.855

we know, any object floats in the water only when density of object will be less than density of water.

here, density of wood (0.855 g/cm³ < density of water (1 g/cm³)

so, wood floats in the water.
