let the length of first piece = x cm

length of second piece = x + 1

length of third piece = x +1 +1 = x +2

total length = x + (x+1)+x +2)

x + x +1 + x + 2 = 48

3x + 3 = 48

3x = 45

x = 15 cm

therefire three parts will be:

x = 15 cm

x + 1 =16 cm

x + 1 + 1 = 17 cm
