Answer:

25 men can do a work (P) in 6 days working 8 hours a day. So we have the equation for the amount of production:

25 men * 6 days * 8hrs/day = P.

Solving the first equation for P:

P = 1200 man-hours

How many hours a day must 30 men have to work in order to finish a work twice as great in 8 days? This gives us another equation:

x * 30 men * 8 days = 2P

Solving the second equation for P:

P = .5 * x * 30 men * 8 days

P = 120x man-days

Now using the two equations to solve for x:

120x man-days = 1200 man-hours

120x man-days / 120 man-days = 1200 man-hours / 120 man-days

x = 10 hrs/day
