Zn + HCl --› ZnCl2 + H2

when the metal is reacting with HCl hydrogen gas is released.

According to reactivity series, all those elements which is above Hydrogen gives out hydrogen gas.

Cu,Au,Ag,Pt,Hg - these are some elements that do not give H2
