Resistance = resistivity x legnth / area

R = p l/A

40 = p l/A ---------(1)

V= Al = A'L
A'= Al / L

A' = Al /2l

A' = A /2

R'= p L/A'

R'= p 4l / A

R' = 4 p l/A

R' = 4 x 40 ( put value of pl/A

R' =160 ohm
