EXPLANATION:

The floods in 2013 and destroyed the pilgrimage towns of Uttarakhand. A lot of ‘people lost their lives’ and properties were destroyed. It was one the worst natural disaster for the country after the tsunami in 2004.

Badrinath is one of the popular ‘pilgrimage sites’ in India which has temples which are very old and it contains a black stone idol of Lord Vishnu.
