A pipe can fill a cistern in 4 hours due to leak in its bottom the cistern fills up in 5 hours. if the cistern is completely filled, in how mach time will it be emptied by leak

See it takes 4hrs to fill the cistern so in 1hr 1/4th of the cistern gets filled.Next we see that due to leak the cistern gets filled in 5hrs i.e in 1 hr 1/5 th of the cistern is filled.

So in how many hrs will it get empty when it is filled?

That is 1/4(amt filled without leak)-1/5(amt filled with leak)

So 1/4-1/7=1/5=20hrs
