Answer:

Length of First Part = 42cm

Total Length of pip before cutting = 90cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the common ratio be ' x '.

.: First Part = 7x

 Second Part = 8x      -----(1)

ATQ,

Length of second part is = 48cm      -----(2)

From (1) and (2)

8x = 48

.: x = 6

Hence,

Length of First Part = 7x = 7 X 6 = 42

Length of Second Part = 8x = 8 X 6 = 48

Total Length of pipe before cutting = Length of First Part + Length of Second Part

Total Length of pipe before cutting = 42 + 48

.: Total Length of pipe before cutting = 90cm
