Answer:

3.75 metres is the length of the pipe

Step-by-step explanation:

==================== 2 m long pipe (1st pipe)

half of it the second pipe... 2m/2 = 1 m

========== 1 m pipe (2nd pipe)

half of second pipe is third pipe... 1m/2 = 0.50 m

===== 0.5 m pipe (3rd pipe)

half of third pipe is fourth pipe... 0.50m/2 = 0.25m

=== 0.25 m pipe (4th pipe)

Total length of the pipe = 2 m + 1 m + 0.50 m + 0.25 m = 3.75 m

Let the length of the first piece be x

Then

If the other piece is twice = 2x

other pieces are 4x(2*2x), 8x(2*4x)

the length of longest piece = 2m = 200cm

8x = 200cm

x = 25 cm

x = 25cm, 2x = 50cm, 4x = 100, 8x = 200cm

Thus, Length = (25 + 50 + 100 + 200)cm

= 375cm = 3m 75 cm or 3.75m
