A pipe of diameter 6.4 m discharges water at a rate of 2.05 mm/s into a cylindrical tank of diameter 7.6 cm and height 2.3 m . Find the time required to fill the tank , giving your answer correct to the nearest minute

Pi *diameter : which is 3.142*64 m= 201.088mm

the pipe discharges 2.05 mm of water per second, so volume of water to tank per second will be:

201.088*2.05= 412.2304mm in one second

then the volume of tank is

V=Pi *r^2= 3.142*3900mm^2*23000= 109910000

to find time

1 sec = 412.2304 mm^3

109910000/412.2304

=266638.51

rounding off we get

= 266638 seconds.
