Answer:

20 hours and 15 mins

Step-by-step explanation:

part of tank filled by the pipe in 1 hours = 1/27

part of tank emptied by the outflow in 1 hour = 1/3 ( 1/27) = 1/81

so part of tank filled in 1 hour =  1/27 + 1/81

                                                 = (3+1)/81 = 4/81

therefore , time taken to fill the tank = 81/4 hours

                                                             = 20 hours and 15 mins
