A pipe x is 30 meters and 45% longer than another pipe y. find the length of the pipe y?

Given that X is 45% longer than Y.

So,

x = y + y. \frac{45}{100}  \\  \\ or \:  \: x = y + y. \frac{9}{20}  \\  \\  or \:  \:  x =  \frac{29}{20} y \\  \\ given \:  \: that \:  \: x = 30 \: m \\  \\ so \:  \: 30 =  \frac{29}{20} y \\  \\ or \:  \: y =  \frac{600}{29}  \\  \\ hence \:  \: y = 20.69 \:  m \:  \: (approx.)
