A pit 200 m long , 50 m wide and 0.75 m deep is dug out in a pond and the mud takes out is spread evenly in a field . Find the height by which the level of the field rises .

Sol:

Length of the field = 200 m

Breadth of the field = 150 m


Length of the plot = 50 m

Breadth of the plot = 40 m

Depth of the plot to which it is dug = 7 m


Volume of the mud taken from the plot = 50 x 40 x 7


Let the height of the field to which it raises be 'h' m


⇒ 200 x 150 x h = 50 x 40 x 7

⇒ h = (50 x 40 x 7) / (200 x 150)

⇒ h = 0.47 m

Therefore, the level of the field raises by 0.47 m
