is hit towards center field, hits the center
field fence, then drops to the ground.

The graph is attached below:

  • When the pitcher pitches the ball, the ball moves towards the hitter. During this motion, the ball has a certain height and this height remains constant. This motion is shown by the red line.
  • After the hitter hits the ball, the ball rapidly escalates and attains a maximum height. This motion is shown by the Blue line.
  • When the ball is at its maximum height, it collides with the fence and loses its elevation at the same time. The height becomes zero. This is shown by the green line in the graph.
