Assam is a place that is extremely close to my heart. My grandparents used to live there and that is how I got a chance to discover the true beauty of this wonderful state. It was in Assam that I first saw tea gardens which looked like a humongous green carpet spread over acres and acres. It was so quiet that all you could hear was the buzzing of the busy insects. The air was magically refreshing, unlike the city air, which only chokes you. There was no traffic on the roads at all! Though the distances between towns was a lot, driving was a breeze. The lush green landscape made the drives a pleasant experience. Since it rained every now and then, we were almost always on the look-out for a rainbow. Though my grandparents have moved out of Assam, I would definitely want to visit the unexplored state again!
