75 cm = 0.75 m

area inside the border

= (10 - 2x0.75)(6.5 - 2x0.75)

= 8.5 x 5

= 42.5 m²

area of the border = 10 x 5.5 - 42.5

= 55 - 42.5

= 12.5 m²

Answer:

Answer:-

Given:

Length of a carpet = 10 m

Width of the carpet = 6.5 m

And , boarder of this carpet has a width of 75 cm = 75/100 = 7.5 m. [ ∵ 1 cm = 1/100 m ]

We have to find the area of the path.

We can say that,

Area of the carpet (with border) - Area of the carpet = Area of the border.

As , length > breadth ; the carpet is in a rectangular shape.

We know that,

Area of a rectangle = length * breadth

So,

⟶ (10 + 7.5)(6.5 + 7.5) - (10)(6.5) = Area of the border

⟶ (17.5)(14) - 65 = Area of the border

⟶ 245 - 65 = Area of the border

⟶ 180 m² = Area of the border
