Length = 24.5 m

Breadth = 18 m

∴ Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth

= 24.5 m × 18 m

= 441 m2

(ii) Length = 12.5 m

Breadth = 8 dm = (8 × 10) = 80 cm = 0.8 m [since 1 dm = 10 cm and 1 m = 100 cm]

∴ Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth

= 12.5 m × 0.8 m

= 10 m2

Answer:

area of carpet = 10*6.5

area of carpet = 65m^2

if the border is build, the new lenght is 10+1.5=11.5m

and breadth = 6.5 + 1.5= 8m

new area = 8*11.5=92

area of border = 92-65

area of border = 27

I hope u will understand
