A plane flying at the height of 5500 m above the sea level exactly lies in a straight line with a submarine which is 730 m below the sea level. calculate the vertical distance between them.

Simple...
As both of them are on a straight line
Just and put the distances and you will get the distance between two
5500m+730m=6230m
