1. Using Newton's law of motion,

   s = ut + (1/2) * a * t^2

   1000 = (1/2) * 10 * t^2    [ taking acceleration due to gravity to be 10 m/s^2]

    t = 10  sec

2. Using Newton's law of motion,

    v = u + at

    v = 10 * 10

    v = 100 m/s
