a plane is flying at a height of 4500m above the sea level. at a particular point ,it is exactly above submarine floating 1100m below sea leavel. what is the vertical distance between them?

Answer:

As one is below sea level and another is above sea level we should add them to find the distance.

4500+1100=5600m. if both are above or below we must subtract.
