Given: A plane is flying at the height of 2000 m above the sea level. A submarine is floating exactly below  it at 1500 m below the sea level.

To find: What is the vertical distance between them?

Solution:

  • Now we have given that plane is flying at the height of 2000 m above the sea level and submarine is floating exactly below  it at 1500 m below the sea level.
  • So the total distance will be:

                  2000 + 1500

                  3500 m

Answer:

So the vertical distance between them will be 3500 m.
