Solution. plane is 5000m above

Submarine is 1200 m below

so, vertical distance between them is 5000+1200=6200 m

here we use the concept of absolute value of an integer.

absolute vale of an integer is the numerical value of the integer regardless of its sign .

if x is an integer then it's absolute value is denoted by x and is defined as :-

1) x = x ,if x is positive .

2) x = 0, if x is zero .

3) x = - x , if x is negative .

\huge\blue{according} \huge\green{to} \huge\pink{the} \huge\red{given} \huge\purple{problem:-}

=> Distance of the flight above the sea

level = 5000

=> Distance of the submarine below the sea level

sea level = - 1200

=> Vertical distance between flight and submarine = 5000 + - 1200

= 5000 + - 1200

= 6200 m

hope help u mate ✌
