A plane is flying at the height of 5000m
above the sea level. At a particular point it is exactly above a submarine floating 1200m below the sea level. What is the vertical distance between them

Distance between plane and submarine = Distance of plane from sea level - Distance of submarine from sea level.

= 5000 - 1200

= 3800 m.

[ Therefore, the perpendicular distance between plane and submarine is 3800 m. ]
