Given:

  • Time = 9000 s
  • Distance = 395000 m

To Find:

  • Speed of the plane.

Solution:

  • We already know the formula to find speed.
  • Speed = distance/time
  • For this problem formula is,
  • It is given by, speed = distance travelled by plane/time taken by the plane
  • S = d/t → (1)
  • Substitute the values of distance and time in equation (1)
  • We get, Speed, s = 395000/9000
  • Speed, s = 43.8 m/sec.

∴The speed of the plane,s = 43.8 m/sec.

Given,

A plane travels 395,000 meters in 9000 seconds.

To find,

Speed of the plane.

Solution,

  • Speed of the body/ object can be defined as the distance(d) covered by the body per unit of time(t).
  • Speed is always calculated in m/s or km/h.
  • It is given that plane traveled 395,000 meters.
  • Hence,

        Distance(d) = 395,000 m.

  • The time (t) taken by a plane to travel the distance is 9000 seconds.
  • Formulae of, speed(s)  = Distance(d)/ time(t)

    ⇒   Speed = (395,000)/(9000)

    ⇒   Speed = 43.888 m/s.

Hence, the speed of the plane was 43.89 m/s.
