Explanation:

The root is the 'descending part' of the plant which 'penetrates inside the soil' and serves the function of 'fixation and absorption'. A plant when it is entirely rootless, they may be a part of different groups.  

Example are bryophytes, some aquatic pteridophytes (S.nantans) and some angiosperms like bladderwort. Some angiospermic root plants 'does not have any root.'  

Urticaria, a submerged hydrophyte has a set of finely dissected leaves which carries the function of the root.  

The roots is also absent in Epipogium.
