(a) Dominant gene is always expressed in a homozygous or in a heterozygous condition of an allele where as recessive gene is expressed only in homozygous condition of the allele.
Dominant gene in a given allele constitutes the phenotype of an organism in that particular trait where as recessive genes in the allele is expressed only when the allele has both of it's genes as the recessive ones.
(b) Somatic variations occur in cells other than germinal cells as a part of it's survival which are not inheritable.
Germinal variations occur in the germ cells. These are inheritable.
