Answer:-

Given:-

→ Length (l) of box = 1.5m

→ Breadth (b) of box = 1.25 m

→ Depth (h) of box = 0.65m

1) Box is to be open at top

→ Area of sheet required.

→ 2lh + 2bh + lb

→ [2×1.5×0.65+2×1.25×0.65+1.5×1.25]m²

→ (1.95 + 1.625 + 1.875)m²

→ 5.45 m²

2) Cost of sheet per m² area = Rs.20.

→ Cost of sheet of 5.45 m² area

→ Rs (5.45 × 20)

Rs.109.

Note:- Look into the attechment for the diagram.

➷A plastic box 1.5 m long, 1.25 m wide and 65 cm deep is to be made. it is to be open at the top. ignoring the thickness of the plastic sheet, determine

(1)the area of the sheet required for making the box

(2)the cost of sheet for it, if a sheet measuring 1 m2 costs rs 20.

 \bf  \underline \red{step \: by \: step \: explanation}

◕(1)the area of the sheet required for making the box

 \sf{Given  \: that}

  • length is 1.5

  • breadth is 1.25

  • height is 65cm = 100/65 = 0.65

 \bf{ \boxed{ \red{ \tt{according \: to \: question \: }}}}

Now formula,

 \bf{ \boxed{ \red{ \tt{area \: of \: sheet = area \: of \: cuboid - area \: of \: top \: }}}}

 \bf{ \boxed{ \underline{ \blue {\tt{ = 2(lb + bh + Lh) - Lb \:}}}}}

then

 ⟹\rm{ = 2(Lb) + 2(bh) + 2(Lh) - Lb}

 ⟹\rm{ = Lb + 2(bh) + 2(Lh)}

⟹ \rm{ = (1.5 \times 1.25 + 2 \times 1.25 \times 0.65 + 2 \times 1.5 \times 0.65)} {m}^{2}

 ⟹\rm{ = (1.95 + 1.625 + 1.875) {m}^{2}}

 \rm{ = 5.45 {m}^{2}}

Area of sheet required of make box is

 \bf{ \boxed{ \blue{ \tt{5.45 {m}^{2} \: }}}}

◕(2)the cost of sheet for it, if a sheet measuring 1 m2 costs rs 20.

  • Area of sheet required is 5.45m^2

According to question

Given:

  • the cost of sheet per
  •  \sf{1 {m}^{2} \:  \: area \: is \: 20}
  • cost of sheet required is 5.45m2 area is

 \rm{ = 5.45 \times 20}

 \rm{ = 109}
