i) find the area of the sheet required for
making the box
2)the cost of sheet for it if a sheet measuring 1m² cost Rs 20
Answers
Given:
✰ Length of a plastic box = 1.5 m
✰ Breadth of a plastic box = 1.25 m
✰ Depth of a plastic box = 65 m
To find:
✠ The area of the sheet required for making the box.
✠ The cost of sheet for it, if a sheet measuring 1 m² cost Rs. 20.
Solution:
To find the area of the sheet required for making the box, we will substract the area of top which is open from the area of whole box ( area of cuboid ) because the box is opened at the top.
➛ Area of sheet = Area of cuboid - Area of top which is open
➛ Area of sheet = 2( l × b + b × h + h × l ) - l × b
➛ Area of sheet = 2lb + 2bh + 2hl - lb
➛ Area of sheet = 2lb + 2bh + 2hl - lb
➛ Area of sheet = 2bh + 2hl + lb
Putting the values in the formula, we have:
➛ Area of sheet = 2 ( 1.25 × 65 ) + 2 ( 65 × 1.5 ) + ( 1.5 × 1.25 )
➛ Area of sheet = 2 × 81.25 + 2 × 97.5 + 1.875
➛ Area of sheet = 162.5 + 195 + 1.875
➛ Area of sheet = 359.375 m²
∴ The area of the sheet required for making the box = 359.375 m²
Now,
➛ Cost of sheet per m² = Rs. 20
➛ Cost of sheet per 359.375 m² = Rs. 20 × 359.375
➛ Cost of sheet per 359.375 m² = Rs. 7,187.5
∴ The cost of sheet per 359.375 m² = Rs. 7,187.5

Given :
A Plastic Box 1.5 m long, 1.25 m wide and 65 cm.Its is isotope be opened the top.
To Find :
1.) Find the area of sheet Required for making the box.
2.) The cost of sheet For it if a sheet measuring 1 m² Cost at Rs 20
Solution :
1.)
Area of sheet = 2 (lb + bh + hl)
= 2 ( 1.25 × 65 ) + (65 × 1.5) + (1.5 × 1.25)
= 162.5 + 195 + 1.87
= 395. 375m²
Therefore,
Area of Sheet is 395.375 m²

2.)
Cost of sheet = Rs 20
Cost of sheet per 395.375
= 395.375 × 20
= 7187.5
Therefore ,
The cost of sheet is Rs 7187.5
