a plastic comb when rubbed with dry hair gets charged. however a metallic comb does not . give reason

because the plastic comb is neutral and rubbed to get charged.because plastic is placed before the hair in triboelectric series.. so that the plastic easily gain electrons from the hair...but the metal is placed after the hair so that it can lose electrons only so or can be charged

Because the electrostatic force is produced between the comb and dry hair. Comb is neutral so it gets charged by rubbing on dry hair while metal is already charged.
