When the plastic cube is released into the water, the plastic cube will float since the density of plastic is very less compared to that of the relative density of water.
According to the theory of flotation, anybody with a density less than that of water will obey the law and flat above the surface of the water.

Answer:
- If a plastic cube is put inside water it will not drown rather it will stay on the surface or float.
- This ability of object to float on water surface is called its buoyancy.
- Every object has certain buoyancy, if buoyancy of certain object is low it will sink while if buoyancy is high it will float.
- Plastic has higher buoyancy and is lighter than water hence it floats on the surface while if it was replaced by a cube made of glass with same weight still it would drown because it is heavier than water.
