A playground, in the form of trapezium, has an area of 2470 m2. If the length of one of the parallel sides is 31m and the distance between the two parallel sides is 52m, find the length of the other parallel side.

height = distance between parallel sides = 52m

Area of trapezium = 1/2 * ( sum of parallel sides) * height

2470 = 1/2 * (31 + x )* 52

2470 = (31 + x) * 26

2470/26 = 31 + x

95 = 31 + x

95-31 = x

64 = x

length of other parallel side = 64m
