Answer:

Given:

Length=30 m longer than its width

To Find:

Perimeter=300 m

Solution:

Let the length of a playground l and that of width

(breadth) be b.

Note:

Playground is of a rectangle shape.

Perimeter of a rectangle=2(l+b)... (Formula)

l=b+30............. (1)

Now by substituting the values,

300=2(l+b)

300=2(b+30+b)

300=2(2b+30)

300/2=2b+30

150-30=2b

120=2b

b=120/2

b=60

Now substituting the value of b in (1)

l=b+30

l=60+30=90

Area of a rectangle=lb.... (Formula)

Area=90×60

=5400 m²

Hence the Area of a rectangular playground is 5400 m².
