Area of the playground=lb + πr²

Area of a rectangle= Length x Breadth= lb

Area of a semi-circle= Area of a circle/2= πr²/2

Now, the diameters of the circles are equal( since the two opposite sides of a rectangle are equal).Therefore, their radii are also equal.

=> Area of the playground= lb + πr²/2 + πr²/2

=> lb + πr²
