Length of  outside = 110

Breadth of outside = 80

Area of plot = L * B

                    = 110 * 80

                    = 8800

Length of inside = 110 - 10 = 100

Breadth of inside = 80 - 10 = 70

Area of inside = 100 * 70 = 7000

Area to be laid with grass = 7000

The area to be laid with grass is 5775 square meters

Given,

length of the plot, l = 110 m

breadth of the plot, b = 60 m

length to be left all around, x = 5 m

To Find,

The area to be laid with grass

Solution,

We have to find the area that has to laid with grass in the entire plot

We have been given that the plot is 110 m long and 60 m broad

Also, we have to leave 5 m all around while laying the grass

Since length and breadth of the plot have been given, we must assume that the plot is rectangular in shape

Also, the grass has to be laid in a rectangular area

This rectangular area has a length, L = l-x = 110-5 = 105 m

It also has a breadth, B = b-x = 60-5 = 55 m

Therefore, the area to be covered with grass = L x B

= 105 x 55

= 5775 square meters

Therefore, the area to be laid with grass is 5775 square meters
