A plot 110 metres long and 60 metres broad is to be covered with grass leaving 5 metres all round. Find the
area to be laid with grass.​

Length of outside = 110

Breadth of outside = 80

Area of plot = L × B

= 110 × 80

= 8800  

Length of inside = 110 - 10 = 100

Breadth of inside = 80 - 10 = 70

Area of inside = 100 × 70 = 7000

Area to be laid with grass = 7000
