Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

length = 60 m

Breadth = 26 m

Radius = 28/2 = 14 m

Solution :-

Area of rectangle ABCD = l × b

Area of rectangle ABCD = 60 × 28

Area of rectangle ABCD = 1680 m²

Area of semicircle = πr²/2 = 22 × (14)²/7 × 2

Area of semicircle = 308 m²

Area of the plot = Area of rectangle ABCD + Area of a semicircle.

Area of the plot = 1680 m²   + 308 m²  = 1988 m²

Hence, he area of the plot is 1988 m²  .

QUESTION :

A plot is in the form of rectangle ABCD having semi-circle on BC. If AB = 60m and BC = 28m, find the area of plot.

SOLUTION :

See the figure in the attachment...

Area of the above plot = Area of Rectangle + Area of Semicircle

Area of Rectangle = 28 × 60 = 1680 meters square .

Area of Semicircle = 1/2 × π × 14 × 14 = 308 meters square.

Hence total area = 1680 m^2 + 308 m^2 = 1988 m^2

The answer is that the total area enclosed by the plot in the above figure is 1988 m^2.
