A point at the end of a spinning helicopter blade has a centripetal
acceleration of 67.37 m/s2. If the velocity of the blade at this point is 16 m/s,

Answer:

Blade length = 7.4m

Explanation:

By the formula of centripetal acceleration-

Ac = v^2/R

Now it is given that,

Ac = 67.37 V= 16

we need to find blade length = 2R

So,

67.37 = 16 x 16 /R

R =  256 / 67.37

R = 3.7 (approx)

So length of blade = 2 x 3.7 = 7.4 m
