Electric potential at a distance r from the point charge + Q is given by
V r = 1 4 π ε 0 Q r
Potential at point A will be
V r A = 1 4 π ε 0 Q r A
Similarly, potential at point B will be
V r B = 1 4 π ε 0 Q r A
∵ r A < r B ⇒ V A > V B ∴ V A - V B > 0
