A point is a distance of 4 units from Z-axis and 5 units from the Y-axis. Represent the position of the point in the Cartesian plane and also write its co-ordinates.
(Please note its Z-axis and not X-axis )

Answer:

(6.4 ,5,4)

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance from z axis (z) and y axis (y) = 4, 5

Now to represent this point in Cartesian form you need to find x coordinate.

How to do that?

With this expression:

Distance from x intercept of a line perpendicular to this point is given by (in a 3D system) :

 \sqrt{ {y}^{2} + {z}^{2} }

 \sqrt{ {5}^{2} + {4}^{2} } = \sqrt{41 } =6.4

Using this we get x intercept of a line from this point perpendicular to x axis= 6.4

Therefore the point is represented by (6.4 ,5,4)

Or in general terms it can be denoted as(x,5,4)
