If there is a change in a single nucleotide and  even after the change the amino acid is coding for the same protein this term is called as silent mutation

Point mutation has 3 types :

  • nonsense
  •  missense
  • silent

Silent mutation is a part of point mutation in which two amino acids codes for the same protein so there is no difference in the protein formed but the sequence changes.
