a point object is placed at a distance of 12 centimetre from a convex lens on its principal Axis it's the image is formed other side of the lens at a distance of 18cm from the lens find the focal length of the lens.
ANSWER
Given
U=-12cm(convex lens)
V=18cm
find focal length=?
By using lens formula
1/v-1/u=1/f
1/18- (1/-12)=1/f
5/37=1/f
f=7.2cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the convex mirror is diverging, the image is formed by retracing the reflected rays and they coincide at the distance equal to difference between image formed by the lens and separation distance between lens and mirror. So, we can say that the image formed by the convex mirror is at a distance of 50 cm.
