Given :  point P(-2,3) divides the line segment joining the points A(-

4,5) and B(3,-2)

To Find : ratio

Solution:

A ( 4 , 5)

B ( 3, - 2)

P ( -2 , 3) Divides A & B in  m : n ration

A ( -4 , 5)  ,  B ( 3, - 2)

-2  =  (3m - 4n)/(m + n)

=> -2m - 2n = 3m - 4n

=> 2n = 5m

=> 2/5 = m/n

=> m : n =  2: 5

Verification for y

(2 * - 2 + 5 * 5) /(2 + 5)

= 21/7

= 3
