Given : point p(a,b) becomes (-2,c) after reflection in x-axis

p becomes (d,5) when reflected in origin

To find : values a,b,c,d

Solution:

a point p(a,b) becomes (-2,c) after reflection in x-axis

reflection in x axis

x' = x

y'  = - y

- 2 = a

 c = - b

p(a,b) becomes (d,5) when reflected in origin

reflection in origin

x' = - x

y'  = - y

=> d = - a  = - (-2) = 2

   5 = - b    => b = - 5

c =  5

a  = - 2

b = -5

c = 5

d = 2
