Number of images appeared will be 1 (Option B) and Nature of image formed by combination is virtual (D).

  • The centre of curvature C is the only point at which only a single image is formed by the mirrors m₁ and m₂ and it coincides thereby forming no other images .
  • Even after multiple reflections, the when the image is placed at point C which is the centre of curvature of both the points, its image will coincide and form a single image only.
  • Since the object is kept beyond the focal point of the two mirrors, therefore the image formed will be virtual. Focal length 2*f =centre of curvature. Therefore f = C/2 and the object is kept at C which is beyond f.
